September Return

Published 7.8.20

Dear Parents,

I hope you are well & enjoying something of a summer break – although I know it doesn’t really feel like one this year!

The plan to open school for all children to return on Monday 7th September is still set to go ahead. All children are to wear full school uniform.

Remember there are staggered start & finish times so that the entrances don’t get clogged up at the beginning & end of the day.  A few parents have been in touch because they have children starting & ending at different times – we will have supervision in classrooms from 8:30 until 3 – but only for siblings of children who are in earlier or later. Have a chat with your child’s class teacher on the 1st day back if you need to make use of this.

It is likely that some of the children will have mixed feelings about coming back (Some of you will too, I’m sure). We are very aware of this and will work carefully to support each child to develop their confidence and enthusiasm for being back at school. You can support this by getting back into routines – I know days have been starting later in many homes! Please talk to us about any worries you have or any difficulties getting back to routines – we understand it’s going to be challenging for many of us for lots of different reasons.

Although we’ve obviously given plenty of thought to what we need to put in place for September, it’s important to listen to what you need from us too. If you have any ideas, suggestions – things that we may not have thought of, please email the school address (wharton.primaryschool@salford.gov.uk).

Enjoy the next few days of lovely weather – I’m really looking forward to seeing you all again soon. Please say a big hello from me to the children,

Kind Regards,

Mrs Watson
