Year Six's Week - 14.6.19

Published 14.6.19

Another great week in Year Six! We have started to use the film 'Up' to produce some superb writing - it got quite emotional when we looked back on Carl's and Ellie's lives! Science has continued with our new topic - light - and we looked into the dangers that climbers face as they scale mountains. In art, we have produced some beautiful information pages about 'influential artists' and had fun in PE doing some HIIT and benchball! We have also started our final sessions with Mick and Skill Force, as we complete our Prince William Awards. Finally, we all want to say a huge congratulations to the 5 Y6 girls (Lily, Hephzibah, Lola, Katie and Carly-May) and the 2 Y5 girls (Angel and Millie) who represented our school superbly at the Salford Girls Cricket tournament on Wednesday, where they placed a superb 2nd! The orgnanisers of the events gave out 7 individual awards, with our girls taking 4 of them (for dedication, passion, perseverence and skill)! Incredible! We could not be more proud.

Next week, we have Sports Day to look forward to, the Book Fair will be in school from Monday and don't forget to look your best for photographs on Wednesday. And, we will begin to rehearse our final assembly! Another busy week. Have a great weekend and 'Happy Father's Day'!
