The learning partnership between home and school, allows for Homework to be a positive experience. From the Early Years upwards, parents are encouraged to support their child's learning, through shared reading, phonics practice, learning key spelling, times tables and more formal research and written pieces. A child who is able to practise reading and maths facts at home, is supported by parents with more formal homework, will be in the best position to thrive at school and beyond.

Information related to your child's home learning expectations can be found on individual year group pages. We encourage all children to read at home as often as they can.

If you need any recommendations, please ask. Lovereading4kids.co.uk is a wonderful website for recommendations, but we have a vast selection in school. Remember, comprehension and an appreciation of what you have read is of equal importance to speed and fluency. It is so important that each and every child has an enjoyment of reading. There is a book for everyone! If you're not sure what your child should be reading next, please come and ask.

Reading Eggs and Purple Mash will host extra weekly activities, please ask for any login details if you are unsure. We encourage the children to also login into TTRockstars at home to increase their general times table fluency. Of course, any additional research or work is richly encouraged and will only benefit your child's progress throughout the year.
