Nursery's work inspired by the whole school text- Flooded

Flooded- ‘A whole school text’ by Mariajo Ilustrajo

Throughout the whole school text exploration, Nursery enjoyed focusing on water activities and team work- just like the animals in the story!

The children were very busy…

o We made our very own rain jars linked with our science exploration.
o Lots of mark making, which included chalk rain drops, name writing clouds, name building water droplets, colouring and more.
o Outside, we had to find ways to get off the ground, problem solving and searching for equipment we could climb up to get out of the flooded waters.
o We engaged in lots of team building activities such as large scale marble painting, building a road as a class for the animals to escape, stacking the tallest towers and even using a ‘pulley system’ within the water try to save the animals and help them escape!
o We also created bubbles and large scale rainbow bubbles, sorted land and sea animals, made our very own fishing rods to help the animals escape the flooded waters and so much more.

Nursery had a very busy and exciting week!
