Year Six's Week - 29.11.19
Published 29.11.19
It's been assessment week this week throughout school and the children in Year 6 have worked so hard and really shown what they can do. I have been so impressed with their attitudes and perseverance.
Elsewhere, we have started a new text in English - the beautiful 'Rose Blanche' by Roberto Innocenti - and already the children are hooked and cannot wait to see what happens. We have been learning how to convert fractions to decimals in maths and have completed some wonderful research about sugar, ready to write reports in science. Within our history lessons, we began comparing Hitler and Churchill, where the children asked some superb questions.
Well done to Skye for being picked to visit Legoland next Tuesday as a reward for a great month at school!
The children have spellings to learn and a reading comprehension to complete.
Finally, we had our first Christmas performance rehearsal, ready for the big days on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
Have a great weekend everyone and don't forget that next Friday is Christmas jumper non-uniform day. Bring in a bottle of something to add to our Christmas tombolas :)
